One of the goals of the Graying of AIDS project is to address care providers and clinicians, and to bridge the gap between this professional, specialized audience and the first-person experiences of people living with HIV.
We were extremely grateful to be given the opportunity to partner with two organizations – the Fight AIDS Foundation (Barcelona, Spain) and Fundación Huésped (Buenos Aires, Argentina) to bring the oral histories of An Aging Pandemic to the 2018 “Comprehensive Management of Aging in HIV” international workshop held in Barcelona, Spain.
All conference attendees were presented with a booklet gathering 18 quotes and portraits from our project (see pdf below). In addition, an installation was featured throughout the conference and a talk presented by Naomi Schegloff, project co-director, allowed for an in-person exchange.
